Nicholas Ostrout, PhD

Nicholas Ostrout, PhD, is Senior Vice President of Commercial Development and Corporate Strategy at ViroCell Biologics. Nicholas brings a wealth of experience in CGT commercial development, corporate strategy and partnerships.

He was most recently Senior Director of Strategic Development and Partnerships at Charles River Laboratories, where he was responsible for developing and executing business engagement and development strategies for the company’s CGT assets, across the entire Charles River portfolio. Nick managed partnerships with all advanced modalities, including biologics and mRNA. Finally, Nick was one of the key drivers for Charles River’s “One CGT”, a CRM system that managed clients across all of Charles River’s various departments in a central database, ensuring coordination and resource management between the various sales, support, and scientific teams.

Prior to that, Nick worked at Lonza as Senior Director (Global Head) of Commercial Development, within Lonza’s Personalized Medicine Business Unit. There, he served as head of the commercial organization, leading the Business Development, marketing, application specialist and engineering support teams. Nick’s work led to a successful launch of the Cocoon cell manufacturing platform, driving net sales to several million dollars annually at the times of his departure. Nick also led the partnerships and transactions team, securing access to promising technologies in cell therapy manufacturing and development.

Nick holds a PhD in Immunology from the Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, and a Bachelor of Sciences degree from Denison University, Granville, Ohio.
